Free-scoring Barcelona proved to be too strong for Manchester City when they claimed a 4-0 victory at the Camp Nou stadium in a Uefa Champions League clash on Wednesday night.
Lionel Messi’s hat-trick and a brilliant finish from Neymar were enough to grant the home side a hundred percent record in the 2016/2017 Champions league so far. After missing a penalty sports kick, Neymar was so quick to rectify his mistake, two minutes later following assistance from Messi.
Now Barcelona seems to be the best team when it comes to tiki-taka style after outplaying Guardiola’s City who are also inspired by the same style of play. They kept their good record against City on the motion.
Despite the loss, City’s Raheem Sterling’s was a marvel to watch as he created several scoring opportunities but none of them was converted into the back of the net.
Barcelona is now five points ahead of second-place City which collected only four points after three games. A win would be enough to grant the Spanish giants a spot in the last sixteen of the tournament. Meanwhile, with three more games to be played, City still stands chances of moving to the next stage.
