Santy, a rap artist and producer from Meadowlands, through his recent mixtape titled Waiting at Reception (W.A.R), shows a true understanding of music and its purpose, especially in this day and age. He believes in the power of music, so much so that his music is free!
“Music is one way for young people to connect with themselves, but it is also a bridge for connecting with others. Through music, we can introduce children to the richness and diversity of the human family and to the myriad rhythms of life” Daniel A. Carp.
At times finance can be a barrier that hinders people from accessing music, this is not the case with Santy’s mixtape. To give you a glimpse of the mixtape, there is a song titled Jaiva where Santy featured Kwesta so you will not be disappointed.

The idea for Waiting at Reception came from his unwillingness to give up on his dreams or let anything stand in his way for that matter. Considering that the music industry is hard to break into, Santy has had his own share of rejection. Just as the saying goes, perseverance is the key to success. His consistency has unearthed his dreams.
“ . . . now that I have found my own path, I’m confident in the moves I am making and [mainly] I want to share good music with everybody. So, this is the first of many free, strictly for enjoyment purposes, projects from me”
Santy, in his mixtape, worked with various artists such as DotCom, Joe Nina, 66 Beats and much more. A lot of work went into the project and W.A.R is simply a sneak peak to what is soon to follow.
Santy’s mixtape will be released to the public around December and more visual work from Santy will follow in January.

People make a living out of music which is perfectly fine, however, the essence of music is about communicating a certain message, a certain culture . . . what better way to do this but through music.
