The University of Johannesburg (UJ) football team will square off with North West University (NWU) football team today in a 6th round fixture of the Varsity Football League at the UJ Auckland Park Bunting (APB) Sports Complex.
The UJ football team has been in form lately following their two consecutive wins in round 4 and 5 fixtures, whilst today’s rivals NWU have had a disappointing streak, losing their last two matches.
Looking at the statistics, UJ has scored 7 goals in their last two matches and conceded one goal while NWU has conceded six goals and only scoring one.

The tally puts UJ as favourite in this upcoming fixture. Also, the home ground advantage may make the odds of a NWU victory quite large.
However, NWU are not to be undermined since a win tonight will put them above UJ on the log table. NWU are currently 5th with 7 points and just 2 points behind UJ, who sits 3rd on the log table with 9 points.
Moreover, the semi-finals draw closer and UJ is faced with a challenge to remain in the top four to secure a spot in the round, which is two games away (counting to tonight’s game). The match kicks off at 18:15 and will be live on Super Sport 4 (SS4).
Above all, the actions of the Varsity Football Cup continues and the wait for round 6 is in high anticipation.
