Newtonians (Mill Junctions/MJ) and Ikhaya Lethu (IK) will settle their championship claims as the UJ Campus Football Promotional League ends this week.
IK started the season on a high note, being at the top of the table with 16 games of the tournament undefeated. However, MJ is not making it any easier for the red army (IK) as they are just behind with 5 points and with more goals scored than IK.
Regardless of two matches left, the red army see themselves as victors of the 2017/8 promotional league season.
“My team is already in celebration mood, after our win in previous games they declared the trophy theirs,” said IK coach, Loyo Khuzwayo.
However, anything can happen in football and it is not over until the fat lady has blown the last whistle. Mill Junction, on the other hand, has not thrown the towel and would not give away without a fight.
“Ikhaya Lethu have been impressive throughout the whole season, we have to mention that and for them to slip up won’t be easy,” said Mill Junction coach, Vuyolethu Sithathu.
These two teams will have their second last clash today which will decide which team will be the 2018 champions.
