Wits University has confirmed through a statement on Friday the end of its SRC’s protest actions, stating that those who have caused damage to the institution’s Braamfontein West Campus will be brought to book based on adequate evidence.
“Please lay complaints and send any evidence, including video clips to the Head of Campus Protection Services so that it can be processed,” states the University’s Senior Executive Team.
Both parties reached an agreement on Thursday night regarding the category of students who are liable for the Wits Hardship Fund that “help students who are in urgent need of registration assistance”. It has been allocated with a total of R13m, according to the University.

Recently, the SRC detailed in its Facebook account that the category was of students who have a debt of no more than R100th.
