Witwatersrand University (Wits) is in mourning after one of its students committed suicide on Sunday, 18th August 2019.
The third-year pharmacy student’s body was found by a fellow student and security personnel at the Argyle House student accommodation.
“On behalf of the university, we extend our deep condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the student. The loss of a young life is one too many,” said the Wits dean of student affairs, Jerome September.
There is still mystery about the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
September noted in a statement that the student’s family requested privacy as they mourn their loved one. TOJ
