COSATU Backfires Pick n Pay’s Automated Retail Machines

COSATU has put plans in measures to boycott Pick n Pay for its adventure of experimenting automated machines, saying this innovative is likely to result in retrenchments.

According to Pick n Pay, the automated retail machines will be implemented in order to increase customers’ satisfaction.

The negative impact of these automated retail machines may also affect other countries, more specifically Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique, Mauritius, Swaziland and Lesotho.

However, as the obvious aim of any business is to conduct business, and particularly that of Pick n Pack’s capacity is to increase profit (“maximizing business efficiency”) by minimizing the cost.
